Huawei to launch Honor 9 on October 5 in India
Huawei has been teasing a new smartphone launch for the Indian market for quite some time now. The company has already sent out media invites for an event with the hashtag— #ExplorewithHONOR. The invite doesn’t reveal anything about anything about the smartphone, but it seems that the company’s global Twitter handle has shared some major information about the upcoming device.
When a user from India asked about the Honor 9’s launch for the Indian market, the company replied that the smartphone will see the light of day on October 5. This comes as a surprise because the company was earlier speculated to launch the Huawei P10 for the Indian market.
The Honor 9 boasts similar features as the Honor 8 Pro, but in a new form factor and better set of cameras. The smartphone packs a glass rear panel and comes in Glacier Grey, Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black, Gold, Blue Bird, Robin Egg Blue colour variants.
As for the specifications, the Honor 9 sports a 5.15-inch Full HD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 428ppi. The device is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC backed by 4GB/6GB of RAM and d64GB/128GB of internal storage.
Optics wise, it has a dual camera setup with a 20MP and a 12MP sensor. For selfies, the company has fitted an 8MP front facing snapper. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor housed on the rear panel and draws power from a 3200mAh battery.
The company launched the Honor 8 Pro at Rs 29,999, so the Honor 9 can be expected for a price tag above Rs 35,000. The smartphone will go against the likes of Nokia 8 which was recently launched in the Indian market. Honor is also expected to unveil the mid-range Honor 7X on October 11.
