iPhone 8 release date: Is this when Apple will release the next iPhone ?

The new iPhone is loaded with features like facial recognition technology, OLED screen and wireless charging, but no home button

Apple has confirmed its plans to hold company's annual product launch event on September 12 at its new Steve Jobs Theater. The confirmation of a launch event came in through press invitation that the company is sending out to all media outlets, saying “Let’s meet at our place,” “Please join us for the first-ever event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino on September 12, 217 at 10am,” reinforcing possibility of announcing the much-awaited iPhone 8.

The Cupertino-based giant is expected to turn the product the launch event into a 'major' event, hoping to announce a bunch of products it is has long been rumoured to, including an Apple TV, Apple Watch with the ability to make calls, and iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. Above all, Apple is highly anticipated to unveil the iPhone 8.

If Apple does announce the revamped iPhone, pre-orders for the phone are believed to open on September 15, knowing Apple’s schedule it has been following for every launched product. The phone may the also hit shelves a week later, on September 22.

As what rumours suggest, the new iPhone is loaded with features like facial recognition technology, OLED screen and wireless charging, but no home button, and is expected to cost $999.
