When the launch event for the Galaxy Note 10 became overcrowded and not to steal any of its spotlight, Samsung all of a sudden unveiled the Galaxy Tab S6. This brand spanking new device comes with all the bells and whistles Samsung could throw in and then some more. These features not just put it ahead of Apple’s best but also trounce it in every department there is. This high-end tablet isn’t just for entertainment purposes as it is a powerful workhorse as well that can go toe-to-toe with some of the laptops available in the market.

While Apple’s iPad Pro is considered the best in the market right now, the Galaxy Tab S6 bests it in many departments. Here’s why the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is definitely the hottest tablet available right now.

OLED Display – Samsung are pioneers when it comes to display technology and they have fitted nothing but the best here. Featuring a 10.5-inch 16:9 OLED panel with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels, the Samsung Galaxy Tab features a screen that’s practically never seen on tablets available in the market. The bezels here are extremely narrow as well putting it at the top of its class and in the process giving it an overall smaller footprint. If that’s not enough, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner as well; so Samsung has ditched its facial recognition for something that’s regarded as more secure.

S-Pen Stylus Support - The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 comes with stylus support and they have even bundled it in the packaging. If that’s not enough, it can also be attached to an aftermarket keyboard case as well.

One UI – The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 runs on Android 9.0 Pie and laced with Samsung’s One UI v1.5. There is also a DeX interface which gives you a desktop-like experience when used with the aforementioned keyboard. Three is a new keyboard attachment that enables launching DeX rapidly and this DeX can also be outputted on an external display using the Tab S6’s USB Type-C port.

Configurations – This new device comes running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and it’s paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The storage has been bumped up too with the base variant coming with 128GB of RAM and it’s topped off at 256GB.

Connectivity Galore – The Tab S6 features LTE connectivity just like the Tab S5e before it and to enable it, you can use a nano-SIM card. There is also a MicroSD card slot, a USB Type-C port and pogo pins for the keyboard cover. All in all, Samsung has not spared any punches with this flagship.

Audio – With Samsung’s new products, the brand has paid extremely close attention to audio quality and on this new tablet, they have added four speakers — one in each corner. These speakers are backed by AKG audio and also support Dolby Atmos technology. There isn’t a headphone jack here which is the only miss on the Tab S6.

Battery – Samsung has added a massive 7040mAh battery here and the brand claims that it is capable of running for up to 15 hours; which is pretty impressive whichever way you look at it.

Dual Cameras – Cameras aren’t the biggest feature of a tablet but Samsung has gone all out with this as well. They have added a 13MP ultra-wide sensor alongside a 5MP wide-angle camera on the rear. Yes, there are now dual-camera tablets. Upfront, Samsung has used an 8MP shooter with an F/2.0 aperture.

These specifications show that it is quite a powerhouse and will handle whatever is thrown at it. The performance will undoubtedly be buttery smooth due to the Snapdragon 855 SoC and the massive RAM it has on offer.

In terms of pricing, Samsung has still managed to keep it competitive by charging you USD 649 for the 6GB/128GB option which roughly translates to about Rs 44,866 and Rs 50396 (USD 729) for the higher-end variant. With this pricing, Samsung has made the Tab S6 much cheaper than the iPad Pro as well as offering a handful of features that put the Apple option to shame.
