The affordable of all Nokia-branded Android smartphones, Nokia 3, released this year will be receiving latest update to Android’s operating system Nougat by August-end, confirmed Nokia’s marketing partner HMD Global.
Launched in June, the Nokia 3 is available through offline stores across the country at a price of Rs 9,499. Even before its launch in India, HMD Global had promised to release monthly security OS updates to all Android-powered Nokia smartphones as soon as they are available for a safer Android system, which the firm appears to fulfil well.
All the newly Nokia released smartphones, including Nokia 3, were rolled out with Android Nougat 7.0 as their operating system. In the latest update, Nokia 3’s OS will be upgraded to Android Nougat 7.1.1.
To recall, Nokia 3 features a 5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, powered by MediaTek MTK 6737, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, with an option to expand up to 128GB via a microSD card. The front and rear camera have both 8MP sensors, and is fuelled by a 2650mAh battery. The device can be purchased in four different colours—Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue and Copper White.
