Samsung Galaxy S7: 17 hr video playback, IP67, USB Type-C?

Samsung will unveil the next Galaxy flagship device at the MWC in Feb 2016

Samsung will push the next flagship smartphone to its limits, aiming to make the competition bend down on its knees. With official information from Samsung, the Korean tech giant confirms that the flagship Galaxy S7, which is due to be launched at the MWC this month, will sport a powerful battery along with better power saving tricks under its sleeve.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has been proclaimed to serve you a whopping 17 hours of video in full brightness on a single charge. Though this information is not officially out from Samsung’s own departments, a tweet from Elda Murtazin claims that the flagship smartphone is certainly set to deploy heavy battery life. Previous rumours have stated that Samsung is packing a larger battery in its next flagship S7, but there are no reports of the exact power rating of the same. Rumours state that the S7 Edge and S7 Edge+ will sport a 3000mAh and 3600mah battery respectively.

According to Eldar, the battery is not of a higher rating, but Samsung’s longer life on the battery output is mainly due to the power saving skills of the chipset and the Android Marshmallow operating system.

As for other reports, another leakster, Evan Blass, reported that the Galaxy S7 will feature an IP67 chassis with water and dust resistance in place. The device is also said to sport a microSD card slot with storage expansion of up to 200GB more.

Unofficial rumours and reports also mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy S7 devices with now sport the USB Type-C port. Also rumoured is that the audio jack this time will be sported on the right side instead of the bottom.

As for the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S7 models will sport a 5.1-inch and 5.7-inch display respectively, both with quad HD displays (1440x2560 pixels), Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chipsets with 2.3GHz processors, 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB options. 128GB option is yet to be confirmed. The camera would be a 12MP on the rear (a cut down from the 16MP on the previous S6 models) and the front camera would sport a 5MP sensor as usual.

As for now, nothing has been officially announced by Samsung. The reports so far are leaks, rumours and anticipations from the market.
