Motorola finally launches shatterproof smartphone in India

It will be available in online and offline retail starting at Rs 49,999 from February 8.

New Delhi: Every two seconds a smartphone screen shatters and roughly one-in-five users use devices with a cracked or shattered screen, according to a recent survey.

However, Motorola on Monday launched the Moto X Force, which is the world's first shatterproof smartphone display, featuring Moto’s ShatterShield technology.

The company claims that the new screen technology will protect the device from all kinds of bumps and scratches, at least for a period of four years.

The Moto X Force display is made of an integrated system of five layers that absorb shock from impact and are guaranteed not to shatter.

In terms of display, the device is equipped with a FHD ultra hi-resolution 5.4” QHD AMOLED screen with 540ppi, which is very good for viewing multimedia content and gaming.

Under the hood, the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor along with 3GB RAM. The Moto X Force offers 32/64GB storage options, which is expandable up to 2TB! The device also sports a 21MP primary camera with extremely fast focus, and a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera flash.

To back it up, the device comes along with a 3760mAh battery capacity and the company claims up to 30 hours of battery life in just one charge. The Turbo Power charging technology is also capable enough to restore eight hours of battery life in just fifteen minutes.

The Moto X Force has 3 colour variants with premium materials to choose from. You can opt for the durable ballistic nylon for rich color and texture that’s lightweight and feels great in Black or Grey colours or a White variant with a durable soft-grip surface with an easy-grip triangle pattern.

The Moto X Force will be available across online and offline retail channels. In the online retail, it will be available on Flipkart and Amazon.
