Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that will let users leave a voice message if their call goes unanswered.
According to WABetaInfo, users will see three options when a call is not picked up: they can either record a voice message, cancel or call again. This option will appear at the bottom of the calling interface once the call ends without an answer.
The “Record Voice Message” button will also be visible in the chat where the missed call occurred. While users can already send voice notes within chats, this feature is designed specifically for missed calls, offering a more seamless way to communicate.
The recorded message will be sent directly in the conversation, WABetaInfo noted.
Currently, the feature is available to a limited number of beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android via the Google Play Store. It is expected to roll out to more users in the coming weeks.
