Hyderabad: Reliance Jio has firmly established itself as the leader in India’s digital future, with a commanding edge in 5G rollout and data consumption. With the largest 5G network and surging subscriber growth, Jio is now at the forefront of India’s transition to a monetised 5G ecosystem.
Jio has deployed over one million 5G cells, covering more than 80% of India’s total 5G infrastructure, and its 5G user base has exceeded 191 million. This massive scale has translated into Jio carrying 45% of India’s total wireless data traffic, underscoring its pivotal role in the country’s data-driven growth.
According to a recent ICICI Securities report, Jio is best positioned to capitalise on the next wave of 5G monetisation, driven by explosive data usage from unlimited 5G offers and aggressive FTTH (Fiber to the Home) expansion. Jio’s annual data traffic has surged to nearly 200 Exabytes, representing a 20% year-on-year growth, and placing India ahead of even traditional global data powerhouses like China.
The Q4FY25 performance saw net subscriber additions of 6.1 million, a rise in ARPU to ₹206 (up 13.5% YoY), and accelerated traction in the FTTH segment—known for its high-volume data users. Jio’s fixed wireless offerings, particularly JioAirFiber, are gaining momentum nationwide, creating a robust platform for future revenue streams.
Despite rising operational costs—network expenses rose by 7% YoY to ₹84 billion—Jio is leveraging its network for enterprise-grade 5G solutions, including network slicing, private 5G, and low-latency applications. These innovations could unlock differentiated pricing models, echoing Jio’s successful monetisation blueprint during the 4G era.
With unparalleled 5G coverage, record-breaking data volumes, and deepening customer engagement, Jio is positioned as the undisputed engine of India’s digital transformation.
Jio AirFiber Leads Digital Connectivity Push Across Telugu States
In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Reliance Jio is setting the pace in Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), with its Jio AirFiber service emerging as the clear market leader. The latest data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for March 2025 highlights Jio’s growing dominance in the region.
The number of active Jio AirFiber subscribers in the AP Telecom Circle rose to 4,83,555 in March 2025, up from 4,58,372 in February—demonstrating consistent growth and user adoption. In stark contrast, Bharti Airtel, the nearest competitor, registered only 1,09,332 subscribers.
Jio’s rapid FWA rollout, competitive pricing, and bundled digital offerings are reshaping home and enterprise connectivity across the Telugu States. With strong demand for high-speed internet in both urban and rural areas, Jio AirFiber is bridging the digital divide, reinforcing Jio’s commitment to driving inclusive digital access.
As Jio continues to expand its FWA footprint and integrate value-added services, its leadership in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is expected to strengthen further, making the Telugu States a model of Jio’s digital leadership in regional markets.
