Instagram Launches Reposts, Friends Tab, Location Sharing Features
With these new features, Instagram says it’s now easier for users and their friends to stay connected through the content they enjoy on the platform

Meta-owned Instagram has announced new features aimed at helping users better connect with their friends on the platfrom.
Instagram has introduced “reposts” feature that lets users to repost reels and feed posts, which the platform claims to “to share your interests with your friends.”
Reposts will be in featured in a dedicated Reposts tab on your profile and it will be recommended on the feeds of your friends and your followers. Each repost are credited to the original poster, helping them to reach wider audience.
Instagram has also introduced an “Instagram Map” feature, which resembles the Snapchat’s Snap Map. Users can share their last active location with friends they choose and also open the map of their friends or creators to see the content they are posting from “interesting or fun locations.”
Location sharing is opt in, and users can choose who they want to share their location with. Users can also choose not to share location in specific places or with specific people.
Another update is the new “Friends” tab in Reels, which lets users to see public content that their friends have interacted with. The “Friends” tab is placed at the top of Reels.
