Instagram Launches New Video Editing App 'Edits'

Meta-owned Instagram has launched a new video editing app called “Edits.” The app was first announced in January and is now available on iOS and Android for free.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri previously stated that the video editing app will offer a full suite of creative tools, including a dedicated tab for inspiration, the ability to track early ideas, and a high-quality camera. Additionally, users will be able to share drafts with friends and creators, as well as access insights into how videos created with Edits perform on Instagram.

Instagram announced the Edits app when TikTok and CapCut went briefly dark in response to a ban in the United States.

The Meta-owned platform is also teasing upcoming features for Edits, including keyframes, AI-powered editing tools, and collaborative video creation with other users.

The app is now available globally, and users can download it and sign in using their Instagram account.
