Windows 10 no longer free

Microsoft has ended the free upgrade promo for Windows 10 and will not be available at $119.99.

Microsoft has officially ended the free upgrade promo for Windows 10. For those of who didn’t get the free upgrade, will now have to pay a price of $119.99 for the license.

Microsoft had rolled out Windows 10 on July 29 and continued to offer it for an entire year. Therefore, users who were able to get the free upgrade can use it without paying any money. This action was a part of the Get Windows 10 app campaign.

What’s interesting to note is that Windows 10 updates were actually highly criticized. However, if you want to switch to Windows 10 now, there’s a price for it. The Home version costs $119.99, while the Pro is up for grabs for $199.99 – these are the US prices, because pricing in the rest of the world varies by taxes. Microsoft says that Windows 10 has the same pricing as Windows 8.1 though.

The company’s latest figures indicated that there were 350 million devices running Windows 10.
