Google Search to notify you every time your name is mentioned on the web
Google has rolled out a new feature in Google Search wherein, users will be informed every time their name is mentioned on the web. It is called ‘Stay in the Loop’ and through this, Google would deliver a report to your registered Gmail ID of where your name was searched.
This feature works as long as you are logged in to Google and have allowed Google to save your web and app activity, technology website venturebeat.com reported on Sunday.
How it works?
You can find a new widget at the bottom of the first page of search results. This exists to help a user to easily set up a new Google Alert for new references of your name.
This is a conscious move by Google to allow users to find out what is online about them. A user can adjust settings like email frequency, sources types, languages, regions among other information.
The feature is now online in India.
