OTT erases borders, provides more access to users across the globe

Since 2016 has been a year of OTT rise. It has also served as a connect with the ground soil for people.

A person living in US might not have easy access to his favorite regional content. Also, an expat in India might wish to watch his favorite series from states. In this OTT has played in really well bridging the gap and gaining the viewership.

YuppTV

With wide array of regional content, YuppTV is one of the world’s largest internet-based TV and On-demand service provider for South Asian content, offering more than 250+ TV channels, 5000+ Movies and 100+ TV Shows in 14 languages. YuppTV, recently received funding from Emerald Media, a Pan-Asian platform established by leading global investment firm KKR for investing in the media and entertainment sector, wherein Emerald Media acquired a significant minority stake in the company for US$50mn. YuppTV had earlier raised its Series A round of funding from Poarch Creek Indian Tribe of Alabama.

YuppTV has 25000 hours of entertainment content catalogued in its library, while nearly 2500 hours of new on-demand content is added to the YuppTV platform every day. YuppTV offers Live TV and Catch-Up TV technology. It has recently launched YuppFlix, a movie on demand streaming service for Expat Market and YuppTV Bazaar an online marketplace for the premium content curator.

Netflix

Netflix after its foray in India has provided quality content from abroad. They viewers can now enjoy popular original content apart from regular TV shows like ‘House of Cards’, Orange in the New Black, Firefly, Arrested Development (Season 4), etc . And the library is still expanding. If you are a fan of English TV shows, Netflix appears to be the best choice out there.

Other players like nexGTV, Voot, Hotstar are mostly replicating the content on TV and serving audience at large with easy access on fingertip.
