JioFiber to offer 100GB data at Rs 500 this Diwali
Reliance Jio is all set to take over the Indian broadband section of the telecom industry with its new ‘JioFiber’ technology.
According to an online report, the firm is planning on launching commercial service during the Diwali season. It is widely reported that Reliance Jio will be offering users with an offer wherein they will be able to avail 100GB of data at a price of Rs 500.
The other big broadband players are already gearing up for the incoming tariff war. As observed, Airtel has already updated its existing broadband plans, followed by BSNL and MTNL.
Reliance Jio made an official announcement earlier this month, stating that its broadband service will be rolled out in the following cities: Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat and Vadodara for free under its JioFiber Preview Offer.
Users will be able to obtain three months worth of high-speed internet through Reliance Jio’s ‘JioFiber’ offer.
As reported by Business Today, the broadband plan is expected to come with a JioMedia share device, a smart set-top box, routers and Power Line Communication devices. “The broadband service prices are expected to start at Rs 500 for 600GB data and for 1000GB data at 100mbps speed, and subscribers would be required to pay Rs 2,000 a month,” the report read.
The company is also expected to introduce landline phone services.
Reliance Jio hasn’t offered any official confirmation as yet.
