Xiaomi to unveil its VR headset on Monday
After stretching its reach to several gadget segments, Xiaomi seems ready to explore the VR space. The company is expected to launch its VR headset on Monday.
Xiaomi’s GM, Tang Mu reportedly confirmed that the company is working on a VR headset which will be compatible with Google’s Daydream platform.
The pricing of the headset is yet to be announced, but Mu said he thinks that this is the best way to provide a VR experience which is optimised for MIUI users
The company took to Weibo to post the teaser of the VR headset. Xiaomi will compete against the likes of Sony, HTC, Samsung and Google, who have already entered this segment.
Xiaomi also recently launched its laptop, the Mi Notebook Air for the Chinese market. It comes with an Intel Core i5-6200U, up to 2.7GHz; 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD; 13.3-inch, full-HD display; Type-C USB for charging, 2x USB 3.0, 1x HDMI, 3.5mm audio port; 40Wh battery.
