Reliance Jio’s Prime membership is swiftly moving towards the last day as the limited time offer ends on March 31, 2017. Reliance had announced its decision to start charging their customers starting April 1st this year. So if you are still contemplating the various benefits being offered by Reliance Industries’ Telecom department – Jio, better hurry. “Join the movement” and “continue unlimited fun for 1 year” are some of the things the new entrant telecom operator — which competes with the likes of Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea — stated on its website. In simple terms, pay a one time charge of Rs 99 before March 31 for membership, and thereafter Rs 303 per month to avail “unlimited voice, data, SMS, apps”, among other offers, as per Jio’s website.
After users have made a one-time payment of Rs 99 (Prime membership fee), subscribers can choose from a variety of packs priced between Rs 19 and Rs 9,999 – which includes free calls and 100 SMS, subscription to Jio Apps. Free calls from Reliance Jio also includes local calls, STD calls, and roaming calls (incoming and outgoing) to any network pan-India. Users can also subscribe to the Prime scheme using ‘Jiomoney’, the company’s digital payments solution. Jio is offering a Rs 50 cashback on payments of the one-time fee of Rs 99 and recharges Rs 303, the website stated.
On the website, Jio’s Rs 303, the “best-selling” offer as per the Jio website, includes free voice calls and 1GB of high-speed data, beyond which “speed will throttle to 128kbps”. Jio’s Rs 303 pack includes daily 100 SMS and additional 5GB data worth Rs 201.
If you wander around the “top-rated” packs, you will find a higher priced Rs 499 in which you will receive 2GB of high-speed data per day, instead of 1GB in the Rs 303 pack, and an additional 10GB “Data Booster” costing Rs 301.
The website also mentioned both the above mentioned packs have a validity of 28 days.
One day validity: Jio is also offering daily packs starting from as low as Rs 19. The Rs 19 pack contains 200MB data for Prime customers. Non-Prime customers subscribing to this pack will get 100MB of data.
Three days validity: The pack costs Rs 49 wherein Prime customers get 600MB of data over a validity of three days whereas non-Prime customers will get 300MB.
Seven days validity: This pack is priced at Rs 96, offers “unlimited data” where after a limited data of 1GB, the speed is reduced to 128kbps, according to Jio’s website.
