2017 will see the launch of four new Nokia Android models, suggests report

A fresh rumour suggests that HMD Global will introduce four more models in Q2 and Q3 of 2017.

One of the biggest news relating to Nokia this year was the company’s comeback announcement. Nokia under HMD Global is planning on launching new Android models in 2017. Up till now, it was rumoured that at least three Nokia-branded Android devices will be unveiled at MWC 2017 that usually takes place in February every year. However, a fresh rumour suggests that HMD Global will introduce four more models in Q2 and Q3 of 2017 which may even include a new variant of the Nokia D1C.

“The four new models will have display sizes ranging from 5 to 5.7-inch at WQHD or full HD resolutions, said the sources, adding that panel suppliers will include LG Display, Century Technology (CTC) and Innolux and that FIH Mobile will serve as production partner,” reported DigiTimes.

The same report even revealed that the first Nokia smartphone is expected to be presented by HMD at MWC. It will be the Nokia D1C and will initially be available in two versions, depending on the amount of memory and display size. The higher-priced version that will come with 3GB RAM and 5.5-inch full HD display will cost $200 and the other version will come with 2GB RAM, 5-inch full HD display and will cost $150.

Apart from that, HMD Global is also expected to unveil its flagship Nokia-branded smartphone which is rumoured to equip Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB RAM and 23MP rear camera with Zeiss lens in February. We are two months away from the MWC event. There is no official confirmation from the company as yet.
