Google Allo to support GIFs, Quick Reply, Split Screen and more
Google released its messaging app Allo for Android and iOS early last month. However, several reports indicated that the app did not receive as much popularity as Google had expected.
In what appears to be an attempt at reviving the company's unfulfilled goal of attracting users, the company has reportedly updated its Allo app. While Allo’s Play Store listing does not display the change-log as of yet; the Google Nexus’ Twitter account has announced the latest update.
'Google Allo now supports multitasking in #AndroidNougat. Chat in split-screen and reply directly from notifications,' the company tweeted.
Here is what you can expect in Google Allo 2.0
- Direct Voice Recognition in Assistant
- App shortcut for Android 7.1+
- GIFs in keyboard for Android 7.1+
- Monochrome chat in settings
- Multi-tasking option
- Incognito key alerts
- Quick Reply support
- Split-screen support
- Direct share option
Users can download the latest version from APKMirror for now. News regarding when the update will be available on the Google Play Store is yet to be revealed.
