Pakistani hacker group defaces Indian websites as “revengeâ€
In a recent turn of events, a Pakistani hacker group — that goes by the name of ‘Pakistan Haxor Crew’ — has hacked 10 different official Indian universities websites, saying it was retaliation for Pakistan’s railway ministry website being hacked by an Indian crew on Monday.
According to India Times, the university websites that were hacked included Delhi University, Aligarh Muslim University, University of Kota, Army Institute of Management and Technology, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Army Insitute of Management, Board of Research in Nuclear, IIT BHU, IIT Delhi and IIT Varanasi. The group defaced the websites, replacing the content with a text message on a black background, claiming their move was in retribution for an Indian hacker called “Code-Man” defacing the railway.gov.pk website on Monday.
An English daily contacted the group on Facebook and they responded by calling the India hack as “too childish” and that the slew of hacks on Indian websites was “payback” to Indian hackers “who keep defacing 3rd class Pakistani websites and put slang content about Pakistan and Kashmir on those websites.”
The hacker said that the slew of hacks was just a “trailer.”
"And I am telling you that it was just a trailer if they continue to hack Pakistani websites then they should know that we have almost every registry access and we can give them a much bigger attack," the group said.
The hack by the Pakistani group took place on Tuesday and the websites were restored by Wednesday morning.
