Facebook takes a leaf out of Instagram\'s book, may make story sharing easier

Facebook is now testing a ‘favourites’ option for content sharing specially through its ‘Stories’ feature.

It’s been almost a year since Instagram unveiled the ‘Close Friends’ sharing option for its now sensational ‘stories’ feature. Now it seems parent platform Facebook is also trying to take a leaf out of its book to encourage selective sharing on its platform.

Discoveries made by Jane Manchun Wong, who frequently reverse engineers apps for vulnerabilities or feature updates, were revealed the information to the world through a tweet.

Indeed, Facebook is now testing a ‘favourites’ option for content sharing specially through its ‘Stories’ feature.

The under-review feature is not exactly a mirror of Instagram’s ‘Close Friends’ list. According to sources who confirmed the tests to TechCrunch, it shall let users share stories, or camera content to a select list of upto 10 people through their private messenger conversations if rolled out.

Facebook currently supports customized, user-made lists for uploading content however, this is only to the news feed. The new feature is expected to improve sharing more personal content on the platform but of course there isn’t any news on whether it would be confirmed.

Until then, users can go through the arduous task of sending content one by one to their multiple friends.
