Google internet balloon uses AI to stay in place for weeks
Google’s internet-delivering hot air balloon will now be using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to stay in place (in the stratosphere) for weeks together.
Introduced as a pilot project in 2013, the internet balloon Project Loon used statistic algorithms to change altitude and stay in position, while floating through the skies through stratosphere.
Google X lab, now known as ‘X’, has introduced the project as an effort to provide internet from the stratosphere down to people on the Earth, especially to areas which have limited or no access to internet services at all.
The balloon will then stay put to provide people with an efficient internet connection.
The company has recently launched a balloon in the stratosphere layer over Peru that will stay afloat for a total of 98 days.
