Google launches Measure Tool for Google Earth on Chrome and Android
Doing enormous measurements is not as tough as it used to be, all thanks to Google. Linked to its Google Earth map system, the company has now introduced the Measure tool for Chrome and Android while the launch for the iPhone will be followed in the coming days. The tool is useful if you want to measure dimensions of large areas where it would be inconvenient and time-consuming to do it manually.
While being on Google Earth, you just have to type the name of the place whose magnitude is needed to be measured. It may be a school, hospital or colony. Once you spot the place on Google Earth, you need to click on the Measure tool icon available on the right side. Now, with the help of the cursor, you can either get the distance between two points or perimeter and area of an enclosed surface. It works in a similar way on the Android smartphones as well.
With the help of Measure, you can calculate the distance, area and perimeter of any surface on the earth, no matter how vast it may be. The tool could prove a major boon for not just common people but also for professionals who need to measure dimensions of large areas, only if the tool provides accurate calculations.
