HTC lead Vive designer quits to head to Google Daydream

Claude Zellweger confirmed his joining in a twitter post today.

Claude Zellweger, who led HTC’s Vive design team, is joining Google Daydream VR mobile platform. Zellweger will be joining Google as a senior new designer for the virtual reality platform.

In a tweet to Verge’s senior editor, Vlad Savov, Zellweger said, “I am joining Google Daydream, so you can redirect your criticism.”

Also, in a statement HTC confirmed Zellweger leaving the company, “HTC can confirm that Claude Zellweger has left the Company. We appreciate his considerable contribution to HTC, and wish him well in his future endeavors. HTC continues to invest in talent and recruitment as part of our broader strategy to ensure the continued strength and integrity of the Company’s organizational structure,” HTC told The Verge.

Apart from him, former Xiaomi’s Vice President Hugo Barra also announced his joining to lead Facebook’s virtual reality team as its vice president.
