WhatsApp is preparing a host of new features and some of them are already deep in the works. Apart from Dark Mode and the ability to stream Netflix trailers in the app, the world’s most popular instant messaging client is getting ready to enhance its security to a whole new level with a feature that has been requested shortly quite some time.

As per the report from WABetainfo, WhatsApp will finally be adding multi-device support on their app and it will be coming in the near future. The feature had earlier made an appearance on WhatsApp beta for iOS version 2.19.120.20 and now it has finally arrived on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.19.345.

Previously every time you log in on a new device, WhatsApp will ask you for a verification code that needs to be entered to retrieve an existing account. With the new beta release, the app will notify you that a registration code was requested for your WhatsApp account. This is done to notify you if it so happened that it wasn’t you who requested for a verification code to be sent to your number. WABetainfo states, “In this beta, there is a hidden string “The recipient’s device list changed. Tap Verify to confirm the new security code”. This string helps us to understand that the encryption key of shared messages is connected to the devices list of members in the chat.”

This isn’t the only change that’s been noticed in the latest beta release. WhatsApp appears to have also redesigned its photo icon where previously it looked like a camera but now with the change, it looks more like a gallery icon. This isn’t a major update but it is a change nonetheless that’s appeared with WhatsApp beta Android version 2.19.345.

All in all, the multi-device support is the headlining feature in this release and it will change the way you use the app.
