WhatsApp new update opens up video calling
Messaging app WhatsApp has updated its Android version with a new video calling feature. This feature is available to users who are a part of the company’s official Android beta testing program.
The video calling feature is accessible through the app’s call tab. Users simply need to tap on the dailler icon present alongside the search icon. This will lead them to an option to either make a WhatsApp voice call or video call.
If the user is not a part of the beta testing program or is using the old version of the app, they will get a notification saying ‘Couldn’t place call. Recipient (name of the contact) needs to update WhatsApp to receive video calls.’
For all those who are interested in being a part of the beta testing program can sign-up for it on WhatsApp’s official website.
There is no word on when this feature will be made available for all users.
