Huawei tries to #Spreadthejoy, says all Indian P30 users will get EMUI 10 in a week

Customers can now join a EMUI 10 review contest on Huawei community page, & sign up for the beta version to probably win a suprise gift

Huawei Consumer Business group India has announced the roll out of EMUI 10 beta version for Huawei P30 Pro customers, today. While, the roll out has begun customers can expect to receive the update latest, in a week’s time.

The EMUI 10 had launched earlier this month for customers worldwide. The announcement, under the company’s new campaign #spreadthejoy also said that customers can now join a EMUI 10 review contest on Huawei community page. Customers can sign up for the beta version on the Huawei community page and stand a chance to win a surprise gift from the company.

In a press release, Huawei said that there is a significant contribution of Huawei centre in Bengaluru in the research and development of EMUI 10.

More space

The new interface has increased spacing with larger headlines, its drop-down menu will also not have any text, allowing for larger icons and easier accessibility. This new design will also add spacing between each notification, thereby making the visual navigation pleasing to the eye.

The spacing shall also be seen across contacts, settings, notepad and even the photo gallery apps. There are also a few icon changes here and there, while maintaining Huawei’s signature style.

An updated camera interface

EMUI 10 makes a few tweaks and adds new features into phone cameras.

The phones’ LEICA engineered cameras will now have a black and white, simple UI with a zoom slider feature. 11 new filters will also become available once users receive the EMUI 10 update instead of the "vivid," "smooth," and "standard" color options.

New colour theme

The new user interface has been inspired by the color palette of the famous Italian painter George Morandi. Thus, this new set of colors is the result of mixing light grey to achieve subdued colors and subtle tones for an overall elegant and peaceful look.

Thus, if one opens contact cards there would be subtle pastel coloured cards at the top. This theme is seen all through the updated phones.

Dark Mode

With the EMUI10’s Dark Mode, contrast is adjusted under changing light conditions. Infact there are four different themes for four different kinds of lighting. Huawei claims that it did so after research done by it on reading efficiency and subjective experience of users on phones under different lighting conditions.

Unlike Android Q, the mode shall also apply to pre-installed and even third-party apps.

Animation Updates

Modelled on real world physics, the overall quality of animations have been improved to create a better user experience. Now long presses will depress the object lower into the screen before making them spring up, while swiping speeds and trajectories will affect how the object reacts.

There is also a better frame rate during transitions, thereby reducing lag and smoothening out animations.

As announced by the tech giant at the IFA last month, the HUAWEI P30 series will be the first to get the EMUI 10 Beta update. This will then be followed by the roll out to the HUAWEI Mate 20 series and other Huawei smartphones in line across global markets, finishing up by March 2020.
