Huawei P20 Plus leaked renders show off iPhone X-like notch

A couple of leaked press render has showcased the smartphone's design.

While Samsung is all set to launch its Galaxy S9 and S9+, a day ahead of MWC 2018, Huawei on the other hand, is gearing up to launch its flagship P20 and P20 Plus in March. Since rumours of Huawei’s next P-series flagship are already floating around, a couple of leaked press render has showcased the phone’s design from the front.

The render seems to have confirmed recent revelations by TENAA that Huawei P20 will come with a full-screen display with the fingerprint sensor available below the display panel, identical to one featured on the Huawei P10.

Based on the renders, the fingerprint sensor on the Huawei P20 Plus (also called as Pro) has been relocated to the rear, with only the Huawei branding showing up on the bottom bezel. Sadly, you don’t get a shot of the rear on either smartphone to help confirm the previous leaks. The report suggested that Huawei’s upcoming P20 phone could come with unprecedented triple camera setup and will indeed be the world's first smartphone with three rear cameras.

Coming back to the leaked renders, both the phones almost have an identical design on the front end along with the nearly bezel-less display with an iPhone X-like small notch up on top.

If rumours are to be believed, the P20 Plus could sport a 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 1600x1080 pixels. The phone is expected to be powered by the Kirin 970 chipset clubbed with 6GB/8GB RAM. The smartphone could come pack with 128GB/256GB of storage. The P20 Plus will be backed by a 4000 mAh battery.

Talking about the triple rear camera setup, the Huawei P20 is rumoured to boast a 12MP colour sensor, a 16MP monochrome sensor and a 16MP telephoto lens. An aperture of f/1.8 is quoted, but it is known unclear which of the cameras it refers to, and the same goes for OIS.

On the front, the handset could feature 8MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The P20 Plus (or Pro) with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage might cost around CNY 5,899 in China, which at the current exchange rates implies $930. Additionally, Huawei has already sent out press invitations for its March 27 event, where the two smartphones are expected to be unveiled.
