Apple has recently showcased its upcoming iOS 12 at WWDC. One of the most anticipated and most talked feature was the screen on time – the new feature which can track your phone’s apps’ running time according to how the user spends on it and exhibits each app screen time accordingly. The newly introduced feature is mainly addressed to the users who are addicted to smartphone and especially the social media apps. Along with monitoring your app activity, you can also choose to set time limits for each individual apps to control the urge of using your smartphone.
Having said that, this feature is currently on the charts on Facebook as well and is being titled as – ‘Your Time on Facebook’. This was first spotted by Jane Manchun Wong, who’s an engineer who earlier has revealed new features in Instagram by scooping through the app’s code.

According to her, this new feature is already in the works by Facebook and eventually it will help users to manage their time spent on their respective Facebook accounts. She had revealed this new feature on her tweet and has also mentioned Instagram helping its users to manage their time spent on the app, which by the way is also owned by Facebook.
The ‘Your Time on Facebook’ feature, while displaying the time spent on the Facebook, it categorises to each day and then for the whole week. Thereafter the user can set up the time limit and can also manage the notifications accordingly.
According to TechCrunch, Facebook has apparently confirmed to them about this new feature stating, “We’re always working on new ways to help make sure people’s time on Facebook is time well spent.”
No doubt this is a much-needed feature and should be available in all most popular social media apps and games, but on the whole, it solely depends on the users’ urge to lessen the smartphone addiction or any popular/ intuitive app for that matter.
