Instagram rolls out two-factor authentication
Instagram has activated a two-factor authentication for all users to create an additional layer of security on the app.
“Two-factor authentication is now available to everyone. This tool adds an extra layer of security to your Instagram account by requiring a code every time you log in,” Instagram posed in a blogpost.
To activate the feature user will need to tap onto the settings icon in the upper-left corner > Account, and enable ‘Two-Factor Authentication.’ Once the feature is enabled, the application will be asked to enter a code every time he/she try to log into the application.
Additionally, to build a ‘safe environment’ Instagram is considering blurring out sensitive photos and videos when scrolled though feeds or visiting a profile. To see a post that is covered with a ‘screen,’ user will have to tap to reveal the photo or video.
