Whoops! Microsoft's new chatbot says Windows is great for getting viruses

Microsoft has had a difficult time controlling its chatbots or teaching them appropriate responses so it does not go bonkers and start doing something completely crazy. Just when it seemed like Zo, Microsoft’s latest chatbot, learned how to behave and never say something odd, here’s a totally unexpected reply which has pointed out Linux is better than Windows.

Microsoft’s most recent chatbot, Zo managed to survive the internet madness. The software giant spent a considerable amount of time implementing filters and tweaking machine learning system to make sure it did not go crazy and start tweeting racist remarks like her sister Tay did after only a few hours spent online.

But a report from Mashable shows the unexpected responses offered by the chatbot when chatting about operating systems. When asked about Microsoft’s latest operating system, Zo states “I don’t even want Windows 10, because I’m used to Windows 7 and I find it easier to use.”

“What exactly is great about it? I’m back to Windows 7,” Zo asked when being told that Windows 10 is actually a good operating system.

But funnily enough, since the chatbot is based on artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, it is safe to assume that Zo learned from other humans that Windows 7 is a better choice than Windows 10.
