Facebook group admins to earn on exclusive content soon

Facebook is testing a functionality which allows group admins to charge members for exclusive content.

Facebook has undeniably been the undisputed king of social media holding the base of over 2 billion active users. It acts as a platform for creative and passionate people to showcase their skills and knowledge. In the coming days, these skilled and potent users will be able to earn through Facebook as it is testing a functionality which allows group admins to charge members for exclusive content.

The charge members will have to pay for being a subscriber will be around $4.99 to $29.99 per month. The group admins will need to share 30 per cent of their earned revenue from each member with the operating systems, Android or iOS, for the first year. Later, the charges come down to 15 per cent.

Th reason for implementing this functionality is said to be the requests which Facebook received from group admins. They needed income to spend on the expenditures which go into making original and intriguing content for their viewers. Speaking on this, Facebook's product manager Alex Deve said “The fact that there will be funds coming out of the activity helps them create higher-quality content.”

Talking about how this feature will work, the group members will first be a part of a bigger free group. The admin can later send invitations to each group member for joining the subscription group in order to have access to the exclusive content. This invitation will contain information about the type of content as well as how much will the members be charged for each content. The charges for the first month will be deducted right at the time of accepting the invitation.

A group admin named Sarah Mueller is already a part of this initiation by Facebook who plans to guide members about cleaning and finishing their houses through videos and tutorials on her subscription group Organise My Home. Although Facebook itself is not charging the admins yet, it is believed that it might demand for its share of revenue in the future.
