Meizu 15, Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu 15 Lite launched

While the Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus feature dual rear cameras, the Meizu 15 Lite sticks to a single rear camera.

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has unveiled three new smartphones — the Meizu 15, Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu 15 Lite in China. Interestingly, all three smartphones come with USB Type-C port and do not come with a notch. While the Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus feature dual rear cameras, the Meizu 15 Lite sticks to a single rear camera only.

As for the specifications, both Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus sports Super AMOLED display along with traditional 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio. Optics-wise, both the units sport a 12MP+20MP dual rear camera setup with features such as OIS and EIS. Both smartphones feature a USB Type-C port for charging and support 3.5mm headphone jack too.

The Meizu 15 features a 5.46-inch full HD display. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage variants. The handset is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery. The Meizu 15 is priced at CNY 2,500 for the base version and it's CNY 2,800 for the model with bigger storage.

The Meizu 15 Plus, on the other hand, boasts a larger 5.95-inch QHD display. The smartphone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8895 octa-core chipset made on 10nm process, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage variants. The Exynos 8895 octa-core chipset is the same chipset that powers the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 devices. The Meizu 15 Plus is backed by a 3500mAh battery. As for the pricing, the Meizu 15 Plus starts at CNY 3,000 and goes up to CNY 3,300 for the Deluxe version.

Coming to the Meizu 15 Lite version, the smartphone boasts a 5.46-inch LCD full HD display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. In terms of photography, the smartphone features a 12MP single rear camera with aperture f/1.9, and a 20MP front shooter. The smartphone draws its power from a 3000mAh battery along with fast charging capabilities. Unfortunately, all three devices run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS, which is a bit disappointing.
