When Pokemon Go was released in early 2016, the world went crazy. This game started a phenomenon like none we had seen. The creators of the game are back with a new game which is targeting Harry Potter fans. Re-introducing us to everything, magical about the Harry Potter series, this game will allow players to explore the world around them, discover mysterious artifacts, learn spells and encounter legendary beasts and iconic characters.
City-based Potterheads are thrilled at this piece of news, and share what they expect from the game. City-based CA trainee Vandana Poojari say, “I think Harry Potter fans are in for a treat. It has been a very long time since the last book of the series was published. Since then, there has been nothing to look forward to, but with this announcement, we get to re-experience Hogwarts and all the secrets of the wizarding world. I think this is something every Harry Potter fan dreams of. When I first read the book, the thing that caught my attention the most was the Sorting Hat, Qudditch Matches and also the duels between Harry and Malfoy. If these elements are added, it would give the game an edge over the other games.”
Duels in real life are frowned upon but in virtual reality, duels are necessary to take down trolls and crazy Slytherin wizards.
City-based student Raksha S says, “I am looking forward to the game. When the news came out, a lot of questions were running in my head. Can we duel with each other? Will we be able to sort ourselves into houses? Unless the creators are able to make Bengaluru’s streets look like Hogwarts, I think the game will not be able to incorporate a lot of things. What I look forward to are the casting spells and duels with gamers.”
City-based bank professional Nancy Samuel says, “I think it’s an excellent idea to introduce a game that targets Harry Potter fans. The series is very popular with a wider range of people. I am sure it will be a hit in no time. I feel it would be cool to get a broom and race, as we have seen in the qudditch games, and virtually change appearances with the poly juice potion. And what I would really like to see in the game is the sorting hat and get sorted into the various houses.”
Most new age games offer various power ups and rewards. Engineering student Srihari Koushik wants the game to have power up and also earn rewards, “This concept is great for all Potterheads. Who wouldn’t want to go to Olivanders to select their first wand? Or cast spells on bad wizards or cast a patronous against dementors? I think the game would really hit the mark if they include potions for power ups and as rewards, gold from Gringots. For a person who has been a muggle all his life, this game I think would be the best way to experience the world of magic.”
