Olympus introduces OM-DE-M1 Mark II along with TreuPic VIII Image Processor

The camera boasts the new TreuPic VII image processor, which is 3.5 times faster performance compared to previous TruePic image processor.

Olympus has announced its new addition to its OM-D series at Photokina 2016. The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II comes with dual fast AF enabling users to set an optimal contrast AF and an On-chip Phase Detection AF.

It also boasts the new TreuPic VII image processor. The processor comes with four computing and processing cores, touted to offer up to 3.5 times faster performance compared to previous TreuPic image processor.

The camera has a 20.4MP Live MOS sensor which offers 25 per cent higher resolution.

Key features:

  • Pro Capture mode offers lag-free shooting helping users capture momentary pictures with clarity.
  • 50MP High Resolution Shot Mode - for images according to the company, will offer 'incredible detail' matching quality of full-frame DSLRs.
  • 5-Axis Image Stabilization - the in-body equipment equalizes the effect of a camera shake.

The camera has dual memory card slots for storing images and videos. It is powered by a 1,720 mAh battery that charges 50 per cent faster then other cameras in the series.
