Pokemon Go to help Apple get a whopping $3 billion
An analyst with investment banking firm Needham & Company, Laura Martin explained how Apple is expected to receive approximately $3 billion in the next 12 to 24 months through in-app purchases made by iPhone users. This is especially true given the fact that iPhone owners are considered to be wealthier than Android users.
There are a lot of items to purchase in Pokemon Go such as Poke balls, lucky eggs, lure modules, egg incubators and Poke coins. Apple receives thirty per cent of the paid price each time the player makes any form of in-app purchase. Thus, bigger the number of Pokemon Go players buying items, more the money Apple makes.
Another research conducted by Slice indicated that Pokemon Go accounts for approximately forty-seven per cent of all mobile purchases on July 10. That actually doesn’t come across as a surprise especially given what a smashing hit the franchise has been.
'Among those who made an in-app purchase with Pokémon GO, 53 percent made one or fewer mobile game purchases within past six months. However 16 percent of paying Pokémon trainers purchased over nine mobile games within the same period,' the study shows.
