Man learns about ex's pregnancy through the Google Play Store
Smartphone users usually enter the Google Play Store with the intention of discovering a new app. However, an Android user named Ben told BBC Radio’s 4’s consumer show, You & Yours that he discovered his ex’s pregnancy, thanks to the Google Play Store.
In the store, there is a separate section that shows users what their friends have downloaded/recommended or rated. “I was downloading an app to my Android phone and it basically showed me that my ex-girlfriend had rated a pregnancy app,” Ben told the BBC program.
“I don’t think she would have wanted anyone to have found out through that route. I think she would have preferred to have said it via an email of face to face,” he said, adding that he was “surprised” and “shocked” by the discovery.
He said that he emailed his ex after some time to confirm the news, stating that just by downloading and rating apps, you don’t necessarily mean for that information to be shared but it is.
