SanDisk brings world's first 1TB memory card

The announcement of the new cards comes after 16 years after SanDisk unveiled its first 64MB SD card.

SanDisk has unveiled a new SDXC memory card with enormous 1TB (1000GB). The new card has huge space to fill in user’s data, but still manages to maintain the same convenient size as a regular memory card.

The new memory card doubles the memory offered by company’s previous SDXC card (512MB), released at the Photokina photography show back in 2014. The announcement of the new cards comes after 16 years after SanDisk unveiled its first 64MB SD card.

The 1TB SDXC card is still in the prototype stage, so the pricing of the card is yet to be announced. However, the 512MB SDXC card is priced at a hefty USD 800, indicating that users will have to shell out huge money to get their hands on the new SDXC 1TB card.
