Facebook launches app for teens
Teens or those below the age of 21, are often found to be one of the most active groups on social media. Thus, it is natural for brands to consider the teen market as the focus of most of their marketing activities.
In similar efforts, Facebook has decided to launch a new iOS app, Lifestage. On this platform, users are essentially asked to fill in their biographical details. This is then, converted into a virtual profile video and shared with the school networks almost instantly.
The app allows uses to discover video profiles created by others in their school and learn more about their colleagues, their shared interests and passions. Every time someone updates their page, it will show up in a feed prompting others to check it out.
Users are required to select their school name after signing up. The app will show other people’s profile to them only when at least 20 other students from the same school register on it.
