Opera brings back VPN on Android browser

With the new Opera for Android 51, the Opera VPN will also be offered.

Opera is officially bringing back its built-in VPN as part of its Android browser.

Prior to its sale to a Chinese firm called Golden Brick, the software company offered VPN service on its browser. However, the built-in VPN stopped working after the acquisition, TechCrunch reported.

With the new Opera for Android 51, the Opera VPN will also be offered. It promises users more control over their privacy and improve their online security, especially on unsecured public Wi-Fi networks.

For the added security, Opera uses 256-bit encryption and does not keep a log or retain any activity data.
