Spidermen to the rescue of small enterprises
Finding and holding on to clients is not the number one challenge for small and medium-sized outfits. A bigger hassle is handling invoices, purchase orders, quotations, timely tax returns and reminder to creditors. How do you managed when you are a small outfit and have just one accounts person?
From Pune-based Gladiris, comes a free Android app -- SpiderG -- that promises to help you automate the whole process to electronically transact and communicate with vendors, suppliers and customers in form of e-invoices, quotations and purchase orders.
Co-founded three years ago by Ashwani Rathore and Harshal Ingale, Gladiris began by offering services in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) -- but soon realised that thousands of micro outfits cannot afford an ERP, depend on a tool like Tally or just do their own accounting.
For such users, they launched SpiderG -- an Android app which allows one to do all invoicing, bill tracking, maintaining a record of expenses from travel to material purchase, chat with customers and internally with other staff and maintain an activity tracker for all such transactions with one difference: it's all electronic! If one does use an ERP tool like SAP or Oracle, or an accounting package like Tally, SpiderG meshes seamlessly with the tool.
All this comes free with the app, but the company does charge modestly -- Rs 250 per month per user -- for some premium services. In its own understated way, the folks behind SpiderG have crafted a truly Indian solution which will be the answer to the prayers of thousands of modestly funded businesses. The product is also piloting in the Philippines and the Middle East.
