New task manager for Windows, iOS, and Android, reveals Microsoft

One of the purposes of the app is to help users create to-do lists and reminders, and keep track of tasks with just a single service

Microsoft just unveiled its To-Do Preview, whose early version of a new task management app that works across a wide variety of platforms, including Windows 10, iOS, and Android. A web version of Microsoft To-Do is also available should you want to access your info without having to install an app.

One of the purposes of the app is to help users create to-do lists and reminders, and keep track of tasks with just a single service which comes with almost the same feature package as Wunderlist.

The release of To-Do is one of the first major steps which Microsoft has made towards the demise of Wunderlist, as the company is planning to discontinue this app and launch along side its very own offering a series of extra features, like Office 365 integration and others. Wunderlist was purchased last year and if development of To-Do advances at the required speed, one can expect the transition could take place by the end of the year.

At this point however, Microsoft To-Do does not work on iOS and Android tablets, but Microsoft says such versions are already planned, together with a Mac client.

“Once we are confident that we have incorporated the best of Wunderlist into To-Do, we will retire Wunderlist. While the name and icon may change, the team that brought you Wunderlist continues on. We look forward to making To-Do even more useful, intuitive and personal,” Microsoft explains.

On Windows 10, Microsoft To-Do comes as a universal app, so it works not only on desktops, but also on smartphones powered by Windows 10 Mobile.
