Now a hair dye that changes color according to the environment
In this era of tech advancement, how cool would it be if you could color your hair which changed according to the weather? According to reports from The Unseen, they have developed a color changing hair dye, Fire, which reacts to shifts in temperature — it could be red outside and revert to a more natural color indoors. The carbon-based molecules in the dye alter their light absorption when they are subjected to temperature changes, producing different colors that can reverse by just heading to somewhere new.
In an interview to the Wired, creator Lauren Bowker has stated that the dye is safe. It uses “less toxic” materials, such as irritants that are wrapped in polymers to inimize the damage to your hair and scalp. In theory, it shouldn’t be any more harmful than the dye you buy at the store.
Fire still needs to be refined and fully assessed for safety before you can buy it. However, one can expect the project to reach the shelves far earlier than expected. If everything goes smoothly, you could soon have a color that evolves from moment to moment, not just any standard dyeing session.
