Microsoft is bringing Cortana to Android lock screen

The update is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks.

Microsoft is testing its digital assistant Cortana on Android that will allow direct access from the phone’s lock.

According to MSpoweruser, Microsoft is testing a beta program for Cortana on Android which will allow the Android user to access the personal assistant even from the phone’s lock screen.

The update is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks.

Once the update is downloaded and installed, Cortana will ask you to enable “Cortana on lock screen. Clicking on “Add Cortana to my lock screen” option will enable the feature on your phone. Following which, a Cortana Logo will appear near the bottom of the lock screen, which one can swipe left or right to open up the Cortana panel.

Do note that the feature does not require user to unlock their phones, as a result anyone would be able to access your data without unlocking the phone. To prevent it, the user only has the option to disable the feature.
