Pokemon Go launches in Canada, servers crash again

The Pokemon Go is now officially available in 27 countries.

After debuting in US, Australia and New Zealand, the Pokemon Go game has been officially released in Canada.

On Sunday, the Pokemon Go game developers announced the launch of the game on their twitter handle saying, ‘Pokemon Go is now available in Canada! Discover and capture Pokemon all around you.’

However, according to The Global and Mail, a news website in Canada, the app’s server overloaded in an hour after the announcement due to which players had to wait before they could register an account.

Initially, the game was not officially available for downloads in many countries, as a result Pokemon fans adapted other methods for downloading and playing. They chose to download the game from unsecured third-party sources which were proved to be fake or corrupt with malware.

The move follows John Hanke, chief executive of Niantic, who developed Pokemon Go jointly with Nintendo, to assure fans of releasing the game in another 200 countries in the coming days, in order to prevent malware from spreading.

As for now, the Pokemon Go has been officially launched in 27 different countries, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, and Canada.

The Pokemon Go game is free to play and is available to download on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
