Facebook launches Youth Portal focusing on teenagers

The social media giant says the portal is a central hub targeted for teens on its platform.

Facebook has launched a new portal focusing on the teens. Named Youth Portal, it claims to be a central hub for the teens using this social media platform.

Firstly, the hub prioritises in giving out information about the Facebook's products like Pages, Groups, Events and Profile, which also includes the data collected by the social firm and how it utilises it further. It also concentrates on peer voices – a segment where it gathers teens' data all over the world about how they are using technology in newer and creative ways.

The hub also provides tips for teens on things like security, reporting content, and deciding what they can see and share. It also advises the youngsters on what to do if they need a social media break and provides some guidelines on how to get the most out of the Internet. Facebook claims that they are also exploring new ways to bring these tips directly to teens on Facebook.

Earlier this month, the firm also started showing tips for teens in News Feed, like how to control who sees what on their profiles, and links to the Bullying Prevention Hub. The portal is currently available in 60 languages.
