Telangana government had initiative to E-governance Mee Seva to combat new virus

Mee Seva director G.T. Venkateshwar Rao said, we are ensuring that services to citizens are not affected due to the present cyber attack.

Hyderabad: Mee Seva, the e-governance initiative of Telangana, that gets up to Rs 15 crore per day for rendering 600-odd services to citizens across the state, is taking steps so that the one-stop solution system does not get affected by ransomware attack that is shaken the world.

Mee Seva director G.T. Venkateshwar Rao said that the state data centre in Gachibowli, where the servers are located, is taking all measures including real time monitoring of the situation. We are ensuring that services to citizens are not affected due to the present cyber attack.

Meanwhile, joint director in IT department Sk.Mustafa stated that they have a three-tier security in place in Mee Sevas to thwart cyber attacks.

“There are updated security systems in place to protect individual computers and the local area network at the centres. Then the state date centre has all things in place to quarantine any form of attack. So at the most a web application in a system will get affected that would not impact the functioning of Mee Sevas,” he said. The official added that Telangana government has focused on having a robust cyber security programme for the last two years.
