Panasonic shows off an invisible glass television
Panasonic has developed a prototype TV that can hide in plain sight. However, the concept television is capable of generating bright and clear images just like normal TVs.
According to Engadget, Panasonic has enhanced the image quality with the new prototype. “The OLED screen is made from a fine mesh, embedded into the glass sliding door,” the report says.
The images on the TV are visible even with the backlighting on and are bright enough to be almost identical to existing TV sets. Users can switch between ‘transparent mode’ where the shelving behind the TV is visible, and the ‘screen mode’ where users can only see the screen.
The report also suggests that users can move the TV up and down the shelf for greater customisability. Panasonic’s innovative TV is likely to stay in development for a while longer and is expected to hit the market shelves in next three years.
