Come 2018 and you won't be able to watch porn anymore
With each passing year, Internet speeds across the world have risen rapidly. 4G VoLTE has gained rapid popularity in developing markets like India and is helping the government to realise its dream of a digital India. However, apart from faster access to online convenience services, people have also been utilising broader bandwidths for accessing pornographic websites. This has also made it easier for under-age individuals to gain exposure to offensive content. But now, all that is about to change with a new law as there will be no access to porn for these kids.
Don’t worry Indians, the law is for the young people of UK. The law makes it compulsory for members of porn websites to register their credit card details with their accounts to continue accessing their services. Credit card service is accessible to individuals above the age of 18, which means that kids registering with false accounts are out of luck and will be missing the pleasure of the fantasy world.
The law will be applicable from the next year, which means that existing users should be submitting their credit card details to their porn website accounts. However, there are several points to ponder with this law, the most prominent one being the safety. In the recent slew of deadly cyber attacks, it becomes difficult to trust the security protocols of pornographic websites with your own credit card details. Secondary, majority of the porn website members prefer concealing their identity, which means most of these members will refrain from continuing their membership with these sites.
But, porn websites have to comply with these rules or they will have to face disastrous fines from the government. And, a law like this will soon be followed by countries like India who want to realise their dream of a digitalised nation. So, if such a law is drafted in your country, how will you deal with it?
