Belgium-based baba tells all secrets in viral clip
Hyderabad: A video, which was released by a Belgium-based safe internet banking organisation three years back, shows how the personal data of netizens can be made available on public domain through various social media websites.
The video purports to show a ‘baba’ named Dave, who it says can find out extremely personal and specific financial information of all the visitors who approach him.
The video then shows Dave revealing every personal matter of the visitors — including new tattoos on their bodies, how much they had spent the previous month on shopping, what items they had put up for auction and other personal details.
Then the ‘baba’ reveals the truth. He removes a screen behind him and the video shows electronic gadgets and LED screens showing the visitor’s profiles on social media. The video was produced by Febelfin, the Belgian Financial Sector Federation, as part of their safe Internet banking campaign.
When it landed on YouTube and other video networks online, it was hailed for its compelling insight into how much data was out there for the world of criminals who were looking for massive amounts of personal information to mine.
