WhatsApp-rival Hike Messenger is planning on launching a new feature – a new payments mechanism that will be linked to the government-backed unified payments interface (UPI). If Hike manages to carry this out then the company will be the first in India to have such a ability.
In other words, users will be able to avail peer-to-peer payments within the app and even make digital transactions like recharging mobile phones.
Hike Messenger however, has refused to comment.
